Your password may already be compromised.

So many companies have already been hacked, huge concerns. There is a strong probability one of your passwords has already been hacked (in 2012 Linked in was hacked some 6.5 million passwords were stolen).

In 2016 a list of 593 million unique email addresses together with multiple passwords for each address was being circulated by criminals. This list was known as ‘Exploit.In’. You can check to see if our own email has been part of a data breach by visiting https://haveibeenpwned.com/.

What you have done in the past is done, what you now do has to unfold.

Golden rules:

· Never use the same password for more than one account, this is more common than you may think.

· Change your password at least every 60 - 90 days (or whenever convenient), for more sensitive accounts even more frequently.

Suggestion:

To manage unique passwords can be a chore, unless you keep it simple, the following is probably one of the best ways to keep it simple and safe.

· Allocate one complex password for your browser (such as chrome (google)), use an acronym if that helps such as timPia21yo! (this is my Password I am 21 years

old!), or anything you can remember, maybe an idea to write it down somewhere safe (backup).

· Then for all other passwords use your browser to generate and save.

~ Click on the top option (for chrome “Suggest password")

# If you are not given the option to use a suggested password (most will). Then use a password generator, but still save to your browser. You will set an option to remember your password.
